Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why UBSki?

We offer luxury, on-the-slope accommodations with lift tickets valid at 4 different ski resorts, for the lowest prices. With over 30 years of experience, our professional staff makes planning your ski vacation hassle-free. Customer Service is our main objective. If you ever have questions or concerns, please call 1-800-SKI-WILD (1-800-754-9453) or email our office.

  • Why is the trip so inexpensive?

There are a few reasons why we can offer such great packages for such low prices: Experience, Volume and Timing!

Experience: We have been providing college students ski trips for 30 years, so we know the ski resorts and the people who run them. We have established long-standing relationships with lift ticket offices, management companies, ski shops, airlines, and every other facet in the ski industry.

Volume: By taking thousands of skiers to the mountains every year, we receive the absolute lowest prices on lodging and lift tickets for college groups.

Timing: By offering our “College Ski & Board Week” trip the first week in January (after Christmas and New Year’s), we are able to offer ski packages at 40%-60% cheaper than traveling in the last week of December (and the lift lines are much shorter in January!).

  • How do I sign up?

You can do it online. Here’s the link – Plan Your Trip.

Or you can call us at 1-800-SKI-WILD (1-800-754-9453) and do it over the phone with a credit or debit card.

  • How can I pay for the trip?

You can pay for your trip a couple of different ways. We accept all major credit cards — Mastercard, Visa, American Express or Discover. We also accept personal checks, cashier checks, and money orders made out to UBSki or Excellent Adventures, Inc. (please do not mail cash).

  • How much is the deposit, is it refundable, and when should I pay it?

The deposit is $100 per person. It goes toward the cost of your trip and is nonrefundable and nontransferable. We sell our trips on a first-come, first-serve basis, so make sure to get your deposit in early! To receive the Early Discount Price, be sure to have your deposit in for Winter Break by October 20, 2023 and for Spring Break by February 6, 2024.

  • When is my final balance due?

The final balance is due for Winter Break on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 and for Spring Break on February 13, 2024 (or 45 days prior to your trip). A $10.00 late fee will be added for each week the balance is not paid in full after the due date.

  • What is the difference between the Lodging Categories?

We offer everything from hotels in Frisco to condos on the slopes to private multi-million dollar homes. We categorize our condos by location. Ski-in/Ski-out and Walk to Lift Condos will be the closest to the lifts. Ski-in/Walk or Shuttle to Lifts Condos are a short walk (2 blocks) or a quick shuttle ride to the lifts. All of our condos are at the base of the mountain in Breckenridge and close to all of the action on Main Street.

  • Am I guaranteed to be in the same room with my friends?

Absolutely! You will only room with the people you list online or on your application. We only match people up at the customer's request.

If you want to drive up with your friends or get your own airfare, that’s OK. And if you fly into Denver for our Winter Break trip, we can save you money and arrange your airport transfers, if your flight times coincide with ours. If you purchase airfare through UBSki, we ask that you pay for it when you make the reservation. The transportation option is only available for the Winter trip.

  • What if I have never skied or snowboarded before?

No problem! About 1/3 of our clients are first-time skiers and snowboarders. The Breckenridge Ski & Ride School is consistently rated as one of the top ski schools in the country. You have the option of purchasing an adult, half-day group lesson through us or through the Lift Ticket Office once you are in Breckenridge. With over 2 dozen beginner (easy) slopes, you’ll be flying down the mountain in no time!

  • What is the party package?

Every UBSki “College Ski & Board Week” ski package includes a party schedule and wristband. This wristband will get you into some of the wildest parties at 10,000 Feet. There’s never a cover charge! The Free Beer Parties are Winter Break Only.

  • Should I book my skis or snowboard rental through UBSki?

Yes! We have teamed up with Christy Sports, the largest ski and snowboard company in the Rockies. For your convenience, they offer multiple shops in Breckenridge and provide our customers with the highest quality equipment at the most discounted rental prices available. Don’t waste your time running around town looking for a ski shop. Book with us in advance and spend more time on the mountain. We offer everything from the Basic Package to the Demo Package and Helmet Rentals.

  • What else can I do other than ski and snowboard?

Breckenridge and the Summit County area have tons of activities to offer (101 things to do!) other than just skiing and snowboarding. Spend the day snowmobiling, ice-skating, dog sledding, shopping or take a hot air balloon ride. At night, try some of Breckenridge’s many restaurants and check out some of UBSki’s Parties!

  • Am I required to attend the UBSki Parties?

No, but we have parties at the best bars and can’t-miss clubs in town! So, join UBSki out on the town, where there is NO COVER, FREE BEER and GREAT MUSIC. The bars will card, so make sure you bring your id.

  • What if I already have a place to stay?

No problem! You can still take advantage of our inexpensive lift tickets and rentals. We can sell any part of our package separately. Call our office today to get rates! 1-800-SKI-WILD (1-800-754-9453)

  • What if I have a question or concern while on the trip?

We have an on-site, professional staff available to help you with any needs that may come up. You will receive the cell phone numbers of our UBSki Staff in Breckenridge in your information packet sent to you a few weeks before the trip. You will also receive the numbers again at check-in. We are there to make sure you have the best time of your life, so give us a call!

  • When will I receive my lift ticket and wristband?

When you check in with your management company, each group will receive a packet containing everyone’s lift tickets, lessons, wristbands, keys, coupons, UBSki party schedules, maps of Breckenridge, and other important information. Your lift tickets will not be mailed because they are like cash.

  • If I drive to Breckenridge, where do I go to check in or pick up lift tickets?

Prior to leaving for the trip, you will receive information by email, including a map with driving instructions and the name and location of the management company that you will need to check in with. Go there first to pick up your packet and keys, and their staff will be able to direct you to your nearby condo.

  • Are there options for larger groups who want to stay together?

Of course! We have tons of lodging options available, including condos and private town homes for larger groups. Just call our office 1-800-SKI-WILD (1-800-754-9453) or answer the questions on the Custom Page and we can help you decide the best lodging option for your group size and preferences!

Yes. You can book your own flight and take our airport transfer into Breckenridge (email a copy of your flight itinerary to info@ubski.com.) Your transfer will not be confirmed until we have your flight information. Before booking your flight, please check with our office to make sure that your flight times coincide with our offered flight times, so that you can make the transfer. Our transfer rates are over 30% cheaper than the airport rates!

It is not the responsibility of UBSki to make sure your flight times work. The transportation option is only available for the Winter trip.

  • Does everyone in my group have to order the same thing?

No! The only thing your group must do in common is check in on the same day and check out on the same day. Besides that, everyone can get what they want. If someone only wants to snowboard for 2 days, that’s fine. We would order them a 2 day board rental and a 2 day lift pass. If someone else wants an extra lift ticket day and a lesson or a 3 day ski and 1 day snowboard rental, all options are available! Just make sure everyone in the group indicates who they're signing up with.

  • I am traveling by myself or maybe with one other person. Do you match people up?

Yes. If requested, we can match you up with people requesting to be matched up.

  • Can I rent both skis and a snowboard?

Yes you can! For example, you can rent skis for 2 days and a board for 2 days or skis for 3 days and a board for 1 day, any combination you like!

  • Do I need to bring towels, sheets, silverware, etc?

No, the condos come with fully equipped kitchens or kitchenettes and are well stocked with sheets, towels, and blankets. The hotels are also fully stocked with sheets, towels and blankets.

  • What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is officially after 4PM, but in some situations your condo might be ready earlier. Please check with your management company. Check-out time is 10AM.

  • How do we check in if we arrive in Breckenridge after the management company has closed?

Prior to the trip, you will receive instructions in your information packet on late check-in procedures. There is a lock box at all of the management companies. They will place the keys to your condo, a map, and an emergency phone number in an envelope inside the box. You will need to go back the next morning to pick up the packet with your lift tickets.

  • If I order a lesson, does it count as my lift ticket for that day?

No. If you are taking a lesson you will still need a lift ticket to get on a ski lift.

  • Can we go different dates than the actual trip?

Yes, you can go optional dates. Give us a call 1-800-SKI-WILD (1-800-754-9453) or fill out the questions on the Custom Page and we will reply with the requested options.
